“My Life on the Road”-Gloria Steinem

January 20, 2016

I didn’t really think that I’d buy the book.  However, I found myself looking at Amazon and then ..Well, Im very happy that I did–and any girl/woman should read it.  Even though a lot of it  might be familiar to you–its a reminder and also the sad truth of where we haven’t evolved.

Also, I was surprised that many women still say “Im not smart enough to be a feminist.”  I would have to disagree.

The definition of” advocating social, political, legal and economic rights for women equal to those of men”.should be a part of each one of us.  I am very sorry to say, that we still haven’t come a long way.  Oh, many will say politically we’ve elected more women but in the business world the glass ceiling still exists, in home the work is not divided equally even though many women work- the list could go on and on.

The older women like myself should be ashamed and I am….. we didn’t do enough.  And maybe, we still can do more.

This will be an area I plan to get into because I gave up… but there is hope. gloriasteinem.com
